The Scottsboro boys were nine black teenage boys that were accused of rape in Alabama in 1931. Their case included a frame-up, all white jury, attempted lynchings, angry mob, and racism. -

The region of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico that was made worthless for farming by drought and dust storms. All the soil was being carried to the Atlantic Ocean. -
Social Security Act
A law enacted in 1935 to provide aid to retirees, the unemployed, people with disabilities, and families with dependent children. This act is still around helping people today. -

Marian Anderson sings at Lincoln Memorial
Marian Anderson sang at the Lincoln Memorail in front of 75,000+ people. She was originally denied by the Daughters of the American Revolution to sing at the concert hall because of her race. Luckily, Elenaor Roosevelt (first lady) resigned the group and decided to help Anderson perform, which helped raise awareness for racial discrimination -
Neutrality Act
A series of laws enacted in 1935 and 1936. Was made to prevent United States arms sales and loans to nations at war.
