    League of Nations Founded
    The League of Nations is founded and based upon Woodrow Wilson's "Fourteen Points". They were created after the Treaty of Versailles was ratified. The U.S however never joined.
  • The American Professional Football League is Founded

    The American Professional Football League is Founded
    The APFL is founded with Jim Thorpe as the president. There are eleven teams. It ends up becoming the NFL in 1922.
  • First Miss America Pageant is Held

    First Miss America Pageant is Held
    It is held in Atlantic City, NJ. Margaret Gorman won. The women back then wore much different clothes compared to what they wear now.
  • Teapot Dome Scandal

    Teapot Dome Scandal
    U.S Secretary of the Interior Albert Fall leases the oil reserves by Teapot Rock in Wyoming. This created a huge scandal for the president, Warren Harding. Fall became the first presidential cabinet member to go to prison.

    It is the largest magazine company today. It was founded by Henry Luce. It was founded in New York City, and is famous for being the first weekly news magazine in the United States.

    Warren G. Harding Dies
    The president at the time dies after a trip to Alaska. His Vice President, Calvin Coolidge, takes over. Coolidge ends up opposing the League of Nations.

    First Winter Olympics Held
    They are held in French Alps in Chamonix, France. There were sixteen nations competing, including the United States, which won four medals. The Winter Olympic Games have been held since this year, except during WWII.

    Also called the Monkey Trial, convicts John T. Scopes of teaching Charles Darwin's evolutionary theory at a high school. This violated Tennessee law. He ends up having to pay $100.

    Philo Taylor Farnsworth, an American inventor, creates it. It later would be patented three years later on August 26, 1930. While it did not have many functions at the time, it was definitely a step history to get TV'S how they are today.

    After many people kept pulling loans out of banks, and putting money into stocks, eventually there was just no more money left. People who had saved up a lot of money in the banks woke up that day to see they had none. It started on the 24th, however it crashed in New York the 29th. This begun The Great Depression.
