    This order forced all US citizens to trade in their gold coins, bullions, and certificates for cash. The individual was allowed to keep up to 5 Troy ounces in these forms. The reasoning for this was to remove the restrictions of the gold standard on the federal reserve to print more money for relief programs.

    The single worst dust storm in American history. Blinds one man and causes heavy damage to the lungs of several others. Unknown if this storm caused any deaths but the conditions made it impossible to drive safely. Forcing many drivers to stay still until the storm passed.
