    The Saco-Vanzetti trial was a controversial trial in the 20's. This case put two Italian men on death row for supposedly participating in an armed Robbery and killing a guard. There was little evidence to prove it was actually them. Some say they were convicted to death because they were American anarchists.

    President Harding passed away in his hotel room in San Francisco. He had a heart attack while sleeping.Vice president Calvin Coolidge was sworn in. He did his four years and was not re-elected.

    A Tennessee school teacher was arrested for teaching the theory of evolution. It is a law in Tennessee stating you cannot teach darwinism. This was called the "scopes monkey trial." He was eventually found guilty

    Charles Lindbergh flew from New York to Paris. The first solo transatlantic flight. He landed in his plane in Paris 33 hours after flying from New York. He landed safely with no complications

    The KKK was growing rapidly in the 20's. This was a hate group that discriminated black people, Jewish people and others. In August 44,000 klansmen marched through Washington, D.C. wearing hooded robes. They crowded Pennsylvania Avenue.

    President Hoover was elected as the president of the United States and was part of the Republican Party. He crushed democrat Al smith in the election. He was running on a slogan "A chicken in every pot, a car in every garage." He was elected and controlled the Oval Office
