The banning of importation, production, sale, and transportation of alcohol caused many Americans to be angry. Speakeasies were built in order to distribute alcohol in these times. The Act was repealed 13 years later. -
Rebirth of KKK
The Klu Klux Klan, that was formed during Reconstruction, came back into the public eye, due to new leadership. Hoover led the FBI against them, leading to one of the greatest law enforcement victories of all time. The Klan was almost completely eradicated. -
League of Nations
Britain, France, Italy, and Japan were the main members of the League and despite being the main founder, the United States did not join. -

Wall Street Bombing
A improvised explosive pulled by a horse-drawn cart was detonated on one of the busiest corners on Wall street. 30 people died instantly and 8 more died later due to injuries. The attacker was not found and it was later thought that Italian anarchists were the suspects. This was the deadliest terrorist attack on US Soil at this point in time. -
Phipps Act
Defined the Federal Aid Road program which allowed for the construction of a national highway system. Interstate construction allowed for many more jobs to be opened to the public all across the country. -
American Plan
The Supreme Court ruled that picketing was illegal, upholding the American Plan that insinuated that unionizing was "un-American". The idea of the open shop was spread by employers. -
Fordney-McCumber Tariff
This law raised American tariffs on imported goods. Congress showed a very "Pro-American", "Pro-Business" mindset when implementing this. This was created with the idea of promoting American businesses in mind. -
Great Railroad Strike of 1922
Commonly known as the Railroad Shopmen's Strike. This strike was put together by seven of the sixteen railroad unions and was caused by the cut in wages for the maintenance workers. It officially ended September 1. -

Chamonix, France held the firs ever Winter Olympics. Charles Jewtraw, an American, won the first event and Finland's Clas Thunberg was the top performer. -
Alain LeRoy Locke
Locke's publication of The New Negro made him the "Father of the Harlem Renaissance". The anthology written by many Black creators allowed for the Harlem Renaissance to be spread. -
Scopes Monkey Trial
John Thomas Scopes, was arrested for teaching evolution after it was deemed only Creationism was to be taught. The trial was long and hot and Scopes was found guilty. However, a multitude of people watched the trial, so the thoughts of evolution were on many more people's minds now. -

After a prize was offered to the first person who would fly from New York to Paris without stopping, Lindbergh took the challenge and succeeded. After his landing, he became a beloved celebrity and icon. -
