The Fair Labor Standards Act
The Fair Labor Standards Act, aka FLSA, gave the first restrictions on what a job could be. The act established minimum wage, overtime pay, record keeping, and child labor standards affecting full-time and part-time workers in the private sector and in federal, state, and local governments. -
The New Deal
The New Deal was enacted by Franklin D. Roosevelt, and contained multiple programs, public work projects, financial reforms, and regulations. It was created to help people recover financially from the Great Depression. -
The Attack on Pearl Harbor
On December 7th, 1941 the Japaneses enacted a surprise attack on the U.S., which killed over 2,500 people in Honolulu, Hawaii. The people that were killed were mostly navy, but there were some from the army, marines, and civilians. -
America Joins WWII
Franklin D. Roosevelt was the president of the U.S. when it entered into WWII. There were many circumstances that impacted the United States decision to enter WWII, but the biggest one was the Pearl Harbor bombing, which occurred on the same day that America joined WWII.
