Bloody Sunday
More than 140,000 Russian workers strike in commemoration of the 12th anniversary of Bloody Sunday. -
February Revolution
More than 100,000 workers are still on strike; the Duma attacks the government failing to respond to food shortages. -
Nicolas ii abdicates his throne
On March 2nd 1917 Nicolas abdicated his throne for himself and his son. He offers the throne to his brother who rejects. The long line of Tsars in the Russian timeline has come to an end. The provisional government is formed to make the important decisions of the country. -
February Revolution
On March 8th 1917 demonstrators clamoring for bed took to the street joined by 90,000 men and women on strike to clash with police and to refuse to leave the streets. On March 10th they broke into police stations burning down to the ground. when Tsar Nicholas heard about this, he ordered his soldiers to shoot the protesters however after firing a few people, The Russian army withdrew their support from Nicholas and sided with the protesters -
Lenin's Return To Russia
Lenin returns to Russia with the assistance of the German government arriving in an armored train. On his arrival, he delivers a speech at Finland Station -
The fall of the provisional government
The provisional government was put into power to rule the country after the Tsars downfall. However they were not elected. Lenin was a man who led the Bolshevicks they did not have much power in February, but as time went on, people started to hate the provisional government and he reforms that they had made to land and other things. Lenin came in to solve the problem that the soviets should lead the country under the influence of Lenin where everything will be shared equally between everyone -
General Kornilov
The ‘Kornilov affair’. General Kornilov declares his intention to march on Petrograd and free the country from radical socialists. He claims to have the approval of the Provisional Government, though this is unclear. -
Trotsky
On August 25th 1917 the Bolshevicks hold a voting majority in Petrograd and Trotsky is elected as their chairman -
October Revoluion
The October Revolution begins after being led up top by series of events in previous months. Like how unpopular the government was and they should be kicked out as they were not voted by the public. The public wanted change, and the Bolschevicks were willing to give it to them
