Titanic Sinks
RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean after collididng with an iceberg durring her voyage from Southampton, UK to New York City, US killing 1,502 people. Captains Edward Smith's Titanic was the largest ship afloat at the time of her voyage and was called "unsinkable." Passengers aboard the ship included some of the wealthiest people in the word as well as hundreds of emigrants. -

U.S. Enters World War I
The U.S. joined the allies (Britain, France, and Russia) to fight in World War I despite man many americans and Woodrow Wilson's opposition to U.S. involvment and their push to keep America neutral. With the sinking of the Lisitania by a German submarine, killing 128 Americans and the sinking of seven American merchant ships turned the public against Germany. -
