Befitting Hats 1920
Hats in the 1920 were a must!! In the summer men would wear a panama straw hat, while in the winter a warmer fedora would be worn. The automobile industry was becoming more of a popular item and therefore driving hats such as flat driving caps were worn. -
1930 "Superman" silhouette Men Suit
This type of suit was made to make men look like they have extra broad shoulders with shoulder pads, a small waist, and tapered legs. This was during the time where the economic world was crashing down and the colors of clothing were dark and modest to represent the hard time everyone was going through. -
1940 Neck ties
No suit in the 1940' would be worn without a neck tie to finish off the look. They were made from silk, rayon, and wool during this time. They were panel ties and very wide. This was to conserve fabric because it was needed for the troops. They were very short where as nowadays they are longer. They were worn right above the pant waist about 2 inches above. -
1950 Rebellion
The 50's for teens and young adults were boring so they were able to express themselves more with clothing. The term "Greasers" became popular in pop and fashion culture in the 50's. It consisted of a fitted white t shirt, black or blue rolled up denim, leather jackets, and greased back hair.
