Alex Meets Lacy Houghton
Lacy is teaching a birthday class where Alex is present but leaves early. When Alex comes back to Lacy for help, we learn the father of the baby does not want it and Alex is scared to become a mother. -
Alex comes to Lacy's office
When Alex thinks she's having a miscarriage, she comes to Lacy's office and is nervous. When Lacy tells her the baby is okay, she is relieved and we learn Alex does want to keep the baby. -
Josie is born
Alex gives birth to a baby daughter, named Josie, with Lacy's help. -
Peter's First Day of School
Peter's first day of school didn't go so well when a bully threw his lunch box out the window. Josie and Peter sat together on the bus and ignored the bullies -
Alex Learns about Judge Position
Whit Hobart calls Alex with a job offer for her. He says they are looking for a judge and he thought Alex would be perfect for the job. After some consideration she decides to apply for the job. -
Josie Goes to the Principal's Office
Josie beat up a kid for picking on Peter and she is sent to the principal's office. -
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Lacy is informed that Peter must stand up for himself he he wants the bullying to get any better. Lacy tells Peter if he doesn't stand up for himself, he can't play with Josie for a month. -
Alex Becomes a Judge
After going through the interviewing process, Alex is offered the judge position. Her first day isn't what she expected, as everyone treated her different except for Liz. -
Peter Learns about Guns
Peter learns to clean guns with his dad and is excited about going hunting and spending time with him. Peter is happy about doing something Joey doesn't like. -
Peter and Josie Start 6th Grade
Lacy gives Peter a Superman binder on the first day of school, which embarrassed him. Drew continued bullying him and poured milk on his binder. -
9/11
When the attacks on the twin towers took place, the school went to the library to watch the coverage. Josie asked Peter if everything was going to be okay and he told her he didn't know. Lacy and Alex came to pick their children up. When they ran into each other is was awakard because they hadn't spoken to each other in years. -
Josie Hangs out with Courtney
When Josie and Courtney have to do a project together Josie finds out she enjoys hanging out with her and the popular girls. After Delores Keating gets her period in class and the students are determined to humiliate her, Peter stands up for her. Peter and Josie's friendship is over. -
Dozer is Put Down
The Houghton family dog is sick and must be put down. Lacy appears to be the only one who cares, until Peter steps up to comfort his mom. -
Alex Goes on a Blind Date
Liz sets up Alex on a blind date, but Alex refuses to go because she thought he was weird. Josie lies for her and tells her Alex doesn't feel well. -
Peter Gets a Job
Peter and Josie begin working together and QuikCopy and start getting along (in private) like they used to. Peter looked up Logan's address for Josie, after finding porn on their boss's computer. -
Josie Meets her Father
Josie and her new boyfriend Matt go to meet Logan. Logan tells Josie he doesn't want anything to do with her right now. Josie doesn't take this news well. On the way home from Logans, Josie got out of Matt's car and started crying. They had sex on the side of the road. -
Peter Goes to a Gay Bar
Peter goes to a gay bar and meets Kurt, who scares him. Mr. McCabe comes to his rescue and brings him home. -
Joey Dies
Josie and Peter were stuck in an elevator and played 20 Questions and Truth or Dare. Josie eneded up kssing Peter. When Peter got home he found his parents crying at the table and found out Joey was killed by a drunk driver. He says this was the happiest day of his life. -
Lacy Feeding the Deer
While Lacy was feeding the deer, Peter came out to ask her for advice because he liked Josie and wanted to know what to do. -
Peter Emails Josie
After recieving advice from Lacy, Peter decides to email Josie telling her how much he ikes her. -
Drew Sends the Email Out
Courtney gets to the email before Josie can, and she sends the email to Drew who sends it out to the entire school. Courtney then tells Peter Josie likes him. When Peter comes to talk to Josie about it, Matt pulls down his pants and underwear in front of the entire lunch room. -
Josie is Pregnant
After having sex with Matt and not using a condom, Josie misses a period and becomes worried that she is pregnant. She pretends to be sick to stay home one day and takes a pregnancy test which comes out positive. -
Peter Gets a Gun
Peter needs to borrow gas for a lawn mower and goes over to his neighbor, who is a retired cop. He see's a gun and eventually makes a second trip over and takes the fun. -
Peter Decides to Bring a Gun to School
This morning Peter is on his computer when the email he sent Josie pops up and will not go away. This frustrates him and this is the tipping point for him shooting up the school. -
Matt, Josie, and Drew Run to the Locker Room
Matt, Josie, and Drew try to make a run for the locker room, but Drew gets shot before he can back it. In the locker room, Matt tells Josie he loves her. -
Peter Drops in Gun
Peter drops his bag and the gun falls to the floor. Josie grabs the gun. -
Josie Shoots Matt
After Josie grabs the gun, Matt tells Josie to shoot Peter, but Josie instead shoots Matt in the stomach. Josie screams for help and Peter shoots him in the head. He tells Josie not to tell. -
Alex Makes Josie Breakfast
Alex makes Josie breakfast and they argue about Josie having coffee for breakfast. Josie brings up that Alex smokes. After Alex leaves, Josie throws the breakfast away and thinks about the pills she is hiding. -
Patrick Ducharme is made fun of
Patrick's morning starts off with him being made fun of for having his toenails painted pink by his Goddaughter. He discusses how he always feels too late before rushing to the school after he gets a call. -
Lacy's Day
Lacy started off her day making Peter's bed perfect for him when he got home. She then went to work, as a midwife and delivered a baby. -
Josie and Matt in the Cafeteria
Josie was hungery because she did not have breakfast that morning, so she bought some fries. Matt told her she couldn't eat them and gave them to Drew and some other boys. -
Patrick Enters the Locker Room
Patrick gets the Signal 1000 and rushes to the high school. There he runs into the building and ends up in the locker room with Matt, Josie, and Peter. He sees Josie is hurt and rushes to her side, shielding her from seeing her boyfriend, who is dead. -
Patrick Serveys the School
Patrick used a torn up shock blanket to mark students locations. It matched the number written on their foreheads. As Patrick looked around he saw walls chipped by bullets and shattered vending machines. It looked like all of the humans had been ubducted. -
Lacy and Alex Arrive
Lacy and Alex arrive at the school, worried, trying to find their kids. Lacy learns from a high school girl that her son was the shooter. Alex rushes to the hockey rink to find the names of the wounded. -
Peter is taken into custody
Peter is taken into custody by Patrick Ducharme. Patrick tries to talk to Peter, but he won't say much besides that they started it. Patrick offers Peter a cup of coffee. -
Police arrive at the Houghton's
While Lacy is trying to hide the evidence in Peter's room, the police show up with a search warrant. They kick Lacy and Lewis out of the house and leave Lacy distraught. -
The Houghton's Call Jordan McAfee
Jordan McAfee gets a call from the Houghton's wondering if he will be Peter's defense attorney. Jordan agrees to it because Peter is someone's son. -
Patrick goes to the hospital
Patrick goes to the hospital to check on Josie. There Alex asks him to tell Josie what happened because she doesn't remember anything. Josie freaks out when she learns Matt is dead. -
Peter in Jail
Peter is stuck in a jail cell and wonders if he'll have to stay here forever with cameras watching him. -
Peter Meets Jordan
Peter meets his defense attorney for the first time and refuses to speak until the end of the meeting. -
Josie tries to go to Peter's arraignment
Alex forbids Josie from going to Peter's arraignment, which upsets Josie. She wants to get away from her mother and uses the excuse that she needs a nap to get her to go away. -
Matt's Memorial Service
Josie attends Matt's memorial service and get up in the middle of it to go to Matt's body. His dad thought Josie wanted to speak but when she got to the microphone she started crying. -
Jordan and Lacy Meet with Peter
Lacy and Jordan meet seperately with Peter. Lacy didn't know how to feel at first and had a hard time with the visit. Peter told Jordan that they were the ones who did it them, and now Peter is being punished. -
Josie Watches a Home Video
Josie sneaks down in the middle of the night to watch a video of her friends at her birthday party. It makes her wish that things were back to normal. She takes off the locket Matt gave her and stuffs it in the couch. -
Josie Goes Out
Alex takes Josie out for the first time since the shooting. A loud noise scares her and she drops to the ground. Alex takes her home. -
The Kids Go Back to School
The high school was relocated to Mount Lebanon School. On the first day back Drew came to pick up Josie and have her Matt's hat. -
Alex Takes a Smoke Break
When Alex takes a smoke break, she runs into Patrick Ducharme and he once again asks about how Josie is doing. -
Peter's Probable Cause Hearing
Peter waved his rights to a probable cause hearing, but Jordan learns that he was happy that Joey died. We also learn that Peter was ultimately trying to kill himself. -
Lacy Has Trouble At Work
Janet Isinghoff refused to let Lacy deliver her baby because she is the mother of a murder. Lacy realizes her life is going to be different from now on. -
Diana Levin Preps Drew Girard
Diana Levin preps Drew for the trial. He lies to her about bullying Peter. Patrick catches him in his lie and make him tell the truth. He tells Drew he will make sure he goes to jail if he lies on the stand. -
Lewis Goes to Peter's Car Appointment
Even with Peter in Jail, Lewis keeps Peter's car appointment. He says he knows that Peter would pass. -
Lacy Cleans the Attic
Lacy goes up to the attic and finds a stuffed dinosaur of Peter's from when he was younger. She tells Peter about this when she visits him and they get into a fight. Lacy ultimately stays because Peter tells her it would just be one more thing she'll be sorry about. -
Alex is Sitting the Case
The prosecutors are upset when they learn that Alex is staying on the Houghton case. The charges against him are read, and a parent stands up and starts yelling. The picture frame they are holding cracks and Peter grabs a piece of glass. -
Elena Battista Writes to Peter
Elena poses as a student who is interested in Peter and asks to interview him. Peter says yes, but it turns out that Elena is a writer for Times. Jordan is not happy with Peter. -
Patrick and Alex Get to Know Each Other
Patrick and Alex run into each other at the Golden Dragon. They start talking and realize they might like each other. -
Jurors are Interviewed
Jordan and Diana interview potential jurors. Jordan tries to get them to think outside of the box. -
Josie "Gets a Job"
Josie tells Alex that she got a job. She really is going to visit Matt at his grave. Patrick follows her there one day. -
The Trial Begins
Jordan gives Peter glasses before the trial begines. Diana and Jordan start their opening statements, which differ. Zoe then begins her testimony because she was the first one shot on the school steps. -
Derek Testifies
Derek testifies for Peter. He tells about Hide and Shriek. He also tells how Peter told Derek to go home That Day because something was about ot happen. -
Alex and Lacy Talk
Alex and Lacy talk at the courthouse for the first time in awhile. Alex comforts Lacy by saying "Something still exits as long as there's someone around to remember it, right?" -
Lacy Testifies
Lacy testifies for her son. She has a hard time up on the stand. Somone in the court room started yelling, which made things worse for her. Selena took Lacy to the janior's closet, and there Alex came to comfort her. -
Peter Goes on the Stand
Peter informs Jordan that he wants to go on the stand and tell everyone why he did it. Even though Jordan thinks it's a bad idea, he let's Peter do it anyway. Peter says some things he shouldn't have during this time, and it made Jordan regret that decision. -
Josie meets with Jordan
While Josie and Alex are waiting with Jordan, Selena rushes in and drops the diaper bag. This causes Josie to remember the shooting. Josie was the one who shot Matt the first time. When Josie goes to testify, this information is shared and now Josie is in some trouble. -
King Wah is on the Stand
Jordan brings King Wah to the stand. He tells the jury that he think Peter is suffering from PTSD which was caused by the bullying he received on the daily. -
Peter is Convicted
Peter is convicted of eight first degree murders and two second degree murders. Peter later killed himself in prison. Josie is convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to five years in prison. -
Alex and Patrick go to the School
A pregnant Alex and Patrick go to the rebuilt school on the aniversary of the shooting. Josie is in prison, but Alex hopes this baby is the baby that saves them all. Alex is now a public defender again and is excited about having a baby with Patrick.
