This was an economic depression that extended to 1897. There was a collapse of the employers, the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad, and the National Cordage Company. This led to an economic crisis as banks closed and there was panic in the stock market. -

This war took place between Spain and America. It started because Cuba was trying to gain independence from Spain and the USS Maine was exploded in the Cuban harbor, so America intervened. -
Treaty of Paris
A peace agreement treaty that ended the Spanish-American War, allowed Cuba to gain independence and put America on the track to be a world power.
