    America bought the Louisiana territory from the French. About 530,000,000 acres for $15,000,000.
  • Invention of the Steamboat

    Invented by Robert Fulton, the origional purpose was to transport paying passengers back and forth between Albany and New York City. Then eventually began to transport goods and products.
  • Second bank of the United States Opens

    After the first bank's charter ended, the second bank was opened and boosted the economy with new ways of giving loans and supporting farmers.
  • The Missouri Compromise

    Admitted Missouri into the US with Maine's territory as a free state, Missouri as a slave state, and made free soil of all northern territories.
  • Monroe Doctrine

    President James Monroe wrote this doctrine to not interfere with the western hemisphere, as the US would use military power against them if they tried t settle any land there.
  • Indian Removal Act

    Forced 74,000 natives to relocate even though it was against previous treaty agreements. They had to move west of the Mississippi River so the Americans can take there remaining land that they had to leave behind, their homes. This led to the Indian Resist settlement, hich started from some of the natives that were relocated thatwanted their land back. So they fught for it, went to war.
  • National Trade Union Formed

    The National Trade Union was formed to become the first organized group of laborers to discuss wages and working conditions.
  • The Trail Of Tears

    (1838-1839)This was the Cherokee Indians march of 800 miles to their relocated territory in Okalhoma, The Cherokee group was led by a man nmed Ridge who signed a treaty with President Andrew Jackson to relocate, and the Cherokee president John Ross was enraged, and thought the "europeans were treating them like dogs"
  • American Civil War Begins

    The Civil War most importantly began because of policies against slavery in the country. The debate had been going on for more than 80 years and eventually broke out into the battle at Fort Sumter at Charleston Bay in 1861 the confederates vs. the federalists.
