A small waist and broad shoulders are still popular. Frock coats are now replacing tail coats. The coats included padded chest and shoulders. -
1840 Look 4
Tiny waists continued to be popular. The frocks worn gave the illusion of hour glass figures. Trousers were worn extremely tight. Frocks included high collars and large buttons. -
1850 Look 5
Waistcoats, coats, and trousers worn all matched. The "sack coat" became popular. Bowler hats and top hats became popular as well.
