This political event was important because it showed that the national government had the ability to stop any violent resistance to its laws.

    On June 30th of 1830 Andrew Jackson passed the Indian Removal Act in which all Native American were forced to move West as a result of America taking their territory. This societal event was important because it soon led to the "Trail of Tears", a turning point in American history.

People spent huge amounts of money, most getting loans, to buy large acres of land which they were hoping to sell.
