  • Virginia Slave Code Passed

    The Virginia General Assembly passed the Virginia Slave Code that allowed for slaves who rebelled against their owner to be harshly punished.
  • French Indian war

    This battle was the result of a struggle between the French and British. Both sides were fighting over land In the East. The British ended up winning.
  • Stamp act

    This act was issued by the British government. Parliament made a tax on paper goods. For example, newspaper, letters, dice, playing cards. All products which contributed to colonists’ sense of gentility.
  • The Boston Massacre

    A few colonists started antagonizing the British troops. They threw snowballs and the British troops saw it as an attack. Leading the troops to fire into the crowd and inguring people.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The American settlers were feed up with the British government. Then in 1173 these upset Americans raided the harbor and dumped the British's tea in the water.
  • The Declaration of Independence

    This is when the colonists decide to break away from the British Government. It specifically stated that the 13 American colonies would not be under the rule of Britain anymore. The Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Second Continental Congress.
  • The first US President

    George Washington is elected as the first United States President. He was looked up to by many of his colleagues and unanimously voted into presidency.
  • The Whiskey Rebellion

    The Whiskey Rebellion start because the government passing a tax on whiskey. People rebelled and boycotted until the government was forced to take away the new law.
