    House of Burgesses passes the Virginia Slave Codes of 1705. The slave codes were a series of laws addressing the interactions between slaves and their owners as well as citizens of the "crown society."

  • Tuscarora War

    The slaves in the province of New York City created an uprising. Approximately 20 enslaved Africans got together and killed nine whites and caused injuries to a few others before they were stopped. This uprising resulted in even more strict slave codes.
