The went after 20 people and got 10 of themsent to jail. Joe McCarthy was a senator who was very anti communist, he went around saying people were communist with out any evidence to back it up.
He was on tv and thats when people took notice to him bullying the witnesses. Later he got condemned and died as an alcoholic. -
