    Deerfield Massacre
    French and Indian forces attacked an English settlement in Deerfield Massachusetts, killing 47 English and burning down part of the settlement. Over 100 English were captured and taken to Canada, which was a 300 mile journey, but those who couldn't keep up were killed.

    During the Texas Revolution, an army of volunteers took over the Mexican Fort, the Alamo. The Alamo was being defended by 200 trying to defeat the Spanish army, when thousands of Mexican soldiers tried to reclaim the Alamo and shut down the Rebellion by the Texans fighting for their independence. Eventually to Alamo fell to the Mexican Army but this Battle raised morale and eventually Texas gained its independence from Mexico.

    Several states left the Union which consisted of many northern states and created the Confederates States of American which were a coalition of south states. This set up the two sides that would fight in the American Civil War which would start up later the same year. (Confederate States which were originally, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas. Later in the same year four others joined which were: North Carolina, Arkansas, Virginia and Tennessee.)
