Second Intermediate Period A
The Second Intermediate Period A is another name for the 13th and 14th Dynasties. These are not technically 'dynasties' or pharaohs, but rather a list of chieftains who ruled northern and southern Egypt (13th is southern, 14th is northern). Manetho was incorrect in labeling these dynasties after the 12th, as they come before according to a contemporary document, the Admonitions of Ipuwer. These 'dynasties' lasted from 1446 to 1341 B.C. -
