  • Massachusetts Bay Colony is formed

    Massachusetts Bay Colony is formed
    John Winthrop leads the Puritans to form the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Puritans begin settling in Boston.
  • New Hampshire Is Founded

    New Hampshire Is Founded
    New Hampshire was founded by John Mason and settled by John Wheelwright.
  • Delaware was founded

    Delaware was founded
    In 1638, Delaware was founded by Peter Minuit.
  • Connecticut is United as a single colony.

    Connecticut is United as a single colony.
    In 1662, King Charles II declared Connecticut as a single colony.
  • Carolina is settled

    Carolina is settled
    Eight men got permission from King Charles II to settle in the land South of Virginia and they named it Carolina. The main port was named Charleston.
  • New Jersey is settled

    New Jersey is settled
    The Duke of New York gave land to Sir George and Lord John Berkeley and they named their colony New Jersey.
  • The Lords of trade are appointed

    In 1675, the Lords of Trade were appointed in England to enforce the new mercantile system and to maximize potential profits for them.

    Bacon's Rebellion

    In these times, Bacon's Rebellion was an uprising event. The Rebellion was against American Indians and the colonial government in Virginia Colony and Bacon's Declaration of the people.
  • The Quakers settle in Pennsylvania

    In 1682, the Quaker religion settled in Pennsylvania. The Quakers were tired of not being allowed to practice the religion they believed in so they went out of England and settled in Pennsylvania.
  • Independence Day!

    On July 4th, 1776, a document declaring freedom for everyone was signed. After that was signed, everyone was free to choose what church they joined, where they lived, and many other wonderful examples of freedom.
