The French and Indian War
(1754 -1763)This was when the french and Indian war.It started in 1754 but it was actually declared in 1756.The French were tired of Britain being bossy so they took out their secret weapon,the indians!But Britain was just too strong so they lost the war and Britain gained even more land.After Britain took that land,they started making rules for the colonists which started arguments! -
The Time of the Declaration of Independence
This was when evrybody was trying to write the Declaration of Independence but they can never agree on when to meet.About 2 people went home because it was taking too long.It took them about 5-6 years to think and come up ith a plan to write the Declaration of Independence.It was a very frusrating time but they did it and soon later the war happended!!! -
The Royal Proclamation
This rule caused the colonists from going to the west where the Appalachain Mountain is.Britain thought that if the colonists went over there,then there wouldn't be much stuff for them so they discouraged them to go there,At that time Britain had lots of power so they could basically do what ever they want but this is what led to the Revolutionary War! -
Quartering Act
After the Quartering was passaed as a law,colonists had to give homes to the british soldiers and they had to give them shelter,food, and water.If the rooms were not big enough,then the soldiers would live in local inns,stables,and houses of wine sellers. -
The Townshend Act
King George made this rule so he would get more money because the townshend act made all the colonists spend more money beacuse you had to pay taxes for everything like glass,lead,paints,paper and tea. -
The Boston Massacre
This was an event that started when a group of colonists started throwing stones,sticks,and other things at the soldiers.No one knows who yelled it but someone yelled,"FIRE!"and 5 people died and many were injured.After people started to hear about it,artists started to try to draw the scene but of course non of them actually saw it so non were very accurate.One of the drawings were by Paul Revere and it showed the soldiers shooting and people dieing!!! -
Tea Act
After the Tea Act was a law,that was what caused the Sons of Liberty to think what they could do to get King George's attention.This was the last straw and the colonists have had enough! -
Boston Tea Party.
On the night of the Boston Tea Party,the Sons of Liberty disguised themselves and dumped over 92,000 pounds of tea right into the Boston Harbor.King George was so angry that he brought in a bunch of other rules!!! -
The intolerable act
Arter the Boston Tea Party,the King was outraged so he destroyed all the goods that were shipped to the colonists.They also had to pay way more taxes and the colonists were angry so this is probably the biggest step to the Revolutionary War!The King closed down the Boston Harbor and only let Firewood and food be shipped in there. -
Stamp Act
The stamp act makes colonists put stamps on everything and thats how King George earned his money.The colonists was very angry because they didn't like putting stamps on everything beacause it costs too much.Imagine you having to buy a stamp everytime you write a letter,sending stuff and a lot more.
