    The Paleo Indians were the first indians to arrive in Tennessee. Paleo comes from the Greeks and means "ancient" or "very old" These Indians were the ones who crossed the Berring land Bridge and arrived at the end of the last Ice Age.

    The Archaic Indians came after the Paleo Indians. They were the first to bring farming and agriculture. These Indians made a very importans weopon called the atlatl.

    De Soto is the first european that arrived in Tennessee. De Soto brought 30 men to go with him. He arrived around Chattanooga when he came to the Hiwassee River. De Soto ad his party of 30 men burned and pillaged Idian villages in 1542 after crossing the Mississippi River.
