    $288 Million contract awarded for new headquarters
    New headquarters to come to Fort Bragg A $288 Million contract was awarded to Hensel Phelps Construction Co. from Chantilly, VA for the construction of the new Forces Command and Army Reserve Command headquarters building on Ft. Bragg. The 700,000 square foot building will house nearly 3,000 military and civilian workers. Many of the workers will relocate from Ft. McPherson, GA while others will be hired locally.

    7th Special Forces Group Advance Team arrived in Florida
    An advance team of soldiers from 7th Special Forces Group arrived at Eglin Air Force Base to begin preparations for the move of the group in 2011. Responsible for logistics and early coordination, the advance team also included soldiers' family members. When the 7th Special Forces Group move is completed in September 2011, 1,837 military personnel, 1,262 spouses and 1,786 children will have moved from North Carolina to Florida.
