the simpsons are born
twinty two seasons have passed since The Simpsons became independent from their shorts on the Tracey Ullman Show in 1987. The family members' animated bodies have changed shape a bit since, but they have not aged much, aside from shows that looked into characters' futures. In fact, most people would agree that Matt Groening's goofy humor hasn't gotten old either. -

starting out
The Simpsons premiered as a half-hour comedy series January 14, 1990. Acclaimed by critics and fans alike as one of television's truest and most hilarious portraits of the American family, the series received the 1990, 1991, 1995 and 1997 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Animated Program. -
the president addresses the simpsons
In October 1990, Barbara Bush called The Simpsons "the dumbest thing she had ever seen". In January 1992, then-current President George H. W. Bush made a speech during his re-election in which he said: "We are going to keep on trying to strengthen the American family, to make American families a lot more like the Waltons and a lot less like the Simpsons". In Season 14, production switched from traditional cel animation to digital ink and paint. The first episode to experiment with digital coloring was "Radioactive Man" in 1995. the movie !!!
On July 27, 2007, The Simpsons Movie was released. Previous attempts to create a film version of The Simpsons failed due to the lack of a script of appropriate length and production crew members. Eventually, producers James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, Al Jean, Mike Scully, and Richard Sakai began development of the film in 2001. Tie-in promotions were made with several companies, including 7-Eleven, which transformed selected stores into Kwik-E-Marts. The film was a box office success. -
