The model T car greatly effected the lives of people in the 1920's. Because of it's low price, it made traveling easier and faster for the middle class America, and gave the people more freedom. -
Prohibition
Prohibition, the 18th amendment, prohibited the consuption, production, sales, and tradeing of alcohol. This movement was pushed by the Womens Christian Temperance Union to try and stop alcohol abuse and to protect families. -
Red Scare
The Americans became paranoid and started seeing anarchists and communists as threats to America and their way of life. -
Palmer Raids
The U.S. Department of Justice (A.M. Palmer), fueled by the Red Sacre, began to arrest and deport anarchists. -
Radio
KDKA was the first radio broadcast and began a radio craze. People started buying radios and they were now being mass produced to keep up with demand. -
Warren Harding
President Harding was elected in the first election with women voting. -
Calvin Coolidge
Harding dies during office so Cooligde takes his place as president. -
Scopes Trial
Also known as Scopes monkey trial. The trial is about a science teacher ,John Scopes, who taught evalution in a high school class, breaking the law. Though he was found guilty, this trial effected the way people thought about evolution. -
Sacco and Vanzetti
The red scare led to paranoia and hatred for anarchists and immigrants which led to Ferdinando Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti's death. They were charged with murder and armed robbery and were executed. -
Stock Market Crash
The people of the 20's extravagant spending caught up to them and the stock market crashed.
