End of The French and Indian War
Was a war between Great Britain and France in North America from 1754 to 1763. Won by the British but was the begining of heavy taxes for North America. -

An action by colonists in Boston to stop the the monopolistic East India Company from controling all import of tea. Colonists dress as indians to try to fool the British. -
Quartering Act
An act that all colonists had to provide room and board for all bristish soliders. -
First Continental Congress
Was the first U.S. Congress that was made up of twelve of the thirteen colonies that met on September 5, 1774, at Carpenters' Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. -
Intolerable Acts
Was used to describe a series of laws passed by the British Parliament in 1774 relating to Britain's colonies in North America that triggered outrage and resistance in the Thirteen Colonies. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The start of the American Revolution. About 700 British Army regulars vs. about 500 militiamen fought. The British went after a cache of weapons that were used to fight the British. -
Thomas Paine's Common Sense
It was first published anonymously and was an immediate success. Common Sense presented the American colonists with an argument for freedom from British rule at a time when the question of independence was still undecided. -
