Was the 31st president. Everyone thought it was his fault that the econmey failed. An example would be Hooverville. -
The Dust Bowl
When the farmers came to the Great Plains and ground up all the dirt there was a severe drought that happened. WIth all the plants uprooted there was nothing to keep the very dry soil from blowing away. so when the winds came it blew all the dirt into other states causing many problems. -

An army that consisted of many vetrans who were promised money from the government and they wanted it now. so they marched to Washington DC to demand payment. -

While the United States was doing pretty bad due to the Great Depression,Germany was doing even worse. Though there was some jobs there wasnt enough for everyone. thats when the Adolf Hitler came in making many promises to the germans and became there leader. -

Was elected the 32th president. they voted for him becuase they blamed everything on Hoover so when a new person comes along they vote for him and hope for a better outcome. -

When Franklin D. Roosevelt cameto office he wanted to start a New Deal plan that would help to end the Great Depression.While doing this he created New Deal agencies. Some being FERA, CWA, AAA, and PWA. -
Social Security
it is a social insurance program providing protection against socially recognized conditions, like old age, disibilities and poverty. You can get more money if you wait longer to retire without a pension. -
Father Coughlin attacks FDR, Jews
Father Coughlin thought that the blame of the Stock market was on the Jews and the wealthy financers. He wanted the govenment to step in and deal with the banking system. -

This allowed Indians the right to manage their land they wanted. it also protected the rights of the Native Americans. -

Created by Franklin D. Roosevelt to guarenteed money to senior citizens when they decide to retire. -

The Neutraility Acts were created by the United States Congress to try and keep us out of another war. -
GM Sit-down strike
The workers at GM did not like the amount of money they were getting so they created the United Auto Workers. They sat down and refused to work until the problem was resolved. -
Rape of Nanjing
The Rape of Nanjing was a mass murder that spanned over a period of 6 weeks controlled by the japanese. It got its name because between 20,000- 80,000 women were raped by Japanse soldiers. -
The Grapes of Wrath
The Grapes of Wrath was a novel that John Steinbeck written during the Great Depression. When writing the book he wanted to put shame on the people who were the cause of this Depression.
