Edict of Nates extended limited toleration to the French Protestants. This put a stop to all religous wars, and caused France to blossom into a powerful nation.

Right after the founding of Jamestown, Champlain and his men founded Quebec. This settlement started the permanent beginings of the Quebec empire. Champlain was given the title "Father of New France".

Louis was very interested in the overseas colonies, Louis helped France set up a large empire up in the new world.

Was started when George Washington opened fire on French troops. The British and the French went back and fourth for seven years. In Europe it is referred to as the Seven Years War.

Was held to try and unite the colonies. Only 7 out of the 13 colonies attended, and it was unsuccesful in uniting the colonies. However it was the first step towards unifying the colonies.

General Braddock led a troop of men to Virginia to take control of For Duquense. As they were reaching the fort the troops met a small army of french and indian troops. Braddock's army was badly defeated.

John Wolfe sent troops up the weak side of a the wall around Quebec. Once inside the wall the British troops took over the city. During the battle in the city both commanders from each side fell fataly wounded.

The proclamation was ordered by the British Parliment to create a British border over the Appalachians. This border prevented the colonists from exppanding beyond the Appalachians. Because of this oppression the colonists expanded in spite of the Proclamation.

The peace settlement kicked France completely out of North America. A french population was left behind but there was no French control.
