France establish Quebec
Led by Samuel de Champlain, who created a friendly relationship with the Huron Indians. This was important because the Indians would later serve as an ally during the French and Indian War. -
Attack at Fort Duquesne
George Washington led 150 Virginians against the French at Fort Duquesne. The French leader was killed, but Washington was soon caught by reinforcements at Fort Necessity and was forced to surrender. This event would cause the French and Indian War. -
The British assemble the Albany Congress
Delegates from seven of the thirteen colonies met in Albany, New York by orders of the British government. Once there, the delegates were told to keep good relations with the Iroquois Indians and received guns. Another purpose of this was to increase the unity among the English colonists, who had failed to unify in past conflicts. -
Braddock attacks Fort Duquesne
General Braddock, sent from England, attempted to take over Fort Duquesne but failed when he and his soldiers were attacked by the Indians hiding in the woods. They were forced to retreat and the Fort remained French territory. -
British invade Canada
By attacking small, exposed forst and not attacking Montreal and Quebec, the French were able to continue receiving supplies and defeat the British. -

This was the first war between England and France that began in America. It was the largest war the world had yet seen, taking place in Europe, America, Africa, the West Indies, the Philippines, and at sea. -
England attacks Louisbourg
William Pitt led the battle against this French fortress and won, making it the first British win in the war, -
The Battle of Quebec
The French, led by Marquis de Montclam, were defeated and the city of Quebec was taken over by the British, who were led by James Wolfe. This was one of the most important battles of the entire French and Indian War. -
The fall of Montreal
The British defeated the French and took Montreal, successfully eliminating France's chance at having colonies in North America. -
End of the French and Indian War
The French and British were able to come up with a peace agreement for the war. France, having been the ulimate loser, lost all of its Canadian territory and Florida to Britian, and given their southern-American colonies to Spain as payment for being an ally. England was now the official world power.
