Herbert Hoover takes office
Herbert Hoover was a very glorious president, but he is mostly associated with creating the Great Depression. President Hoover was very inspiring and he preceeded FDR. -

The reconstruction finance corporation purpose was to lend out money during the depression. At first it was only to financial, industrial, and agricultural institutions, but it expanded due to the New Deal from FDR. -
FDR elected
FDR created the New Deal, which was meant to recuperate from the Great Depression. He created the Social Security Act and many important acts to come as a part of the New Deal. -

Bonus Army
The Bonus Army was made of many military veterans. They all marched on Washington DC to demand the money they were meant to get in 1945 because they needed the money then more than in the future. -
Indian Reorganization Act
The Indian Reorganization Act allowed the indians to vote whether or not they wanted to accept it. The voting system was if majority of adults did not vote against it, it would be accepted within that tribe. -
The Dust Bowl
The Great Plains which once held buffalo grass, became dug up in order to plant crops and help out farmers. FDR's plan to do so didn't quite work out and the wind blew all topsoil around and became a great hazard for the United States. Giant dust storms rose up in the Great Plains and some dust would wind up around Washington D.C. -

The Social Security Act was a momentous feat in American History. This Act was meant to give a steady income to people 65 or older. -

Social security was created so many Americans can get money and no longer be poor. People pay money into social security and will get a steady stream of money back when they get older. The quantity of which is determined by the amount of money you sent into social security. -
Father Coughlin attacks FDR, Jews
Father Coughlin was a priest over the radio. His show would have a touch of politics and such. During the presidential election of FDR Coughlin supported Roosevelt's ideas of the New Deal. About two years later Coughlin started to tremendously dislike the New Deal and started to talk more about politics than religion and in the end Coughlin was charged with Nazi sympathyzing. -
Neutrality Acts
The Neutrality Acts were meant to keep the United States neutral prior to and during the beginning of WWI. The Japanese made it hard to maintain neutrality but when Germany declared war on the US we went into war. -
GM Sit-down strike
The GM sit-down strike took place in Flint, MI. The strike was centered at the heart of GM, one of the most industial companies at the time. Many workers would stop working and sit down in order to try to get more benefits. -
Rape of Nanjing
Between December 1937 and March of the next year a massacre took place. Japanese troops captured the Chinese city of Nanjing and embarked on a campaign of murder, rape and looting. -

Grapes of Wrath was a novel that could have been a documentary of American socioeconomic events. -
The New Deal
The New Deal comprises of many acts of legislation in the US. The New Deal is meant to end the Great Depression in the United States. FDR created it along with all the acts which will try to make life easier.
