Herbert Hoover takes Office
Herbert Hoover took office in 1929 and became the 31st president of the United States. He was our president from 1929-1933. Also he was mining engineer and a author. -
The Dust Bowl
The Dust Bowl is basically a big dust storm that lasted from 1931 to 1936. It was mostly hit in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. These dust storms made problems for some farmers because it made crops unable to grow. -

The social seceruty act was made in 1935. This act helped people that didn't have jobs or they had disabilities. -

The neutraility acts is series of other acts that were created between congress between the years 1935 - 1936. Before World War II the U.S was neutral. -
GM Sit-down Strike
The stike took place in Flint, Michigan. This strike lasted for fourty-four days. Also it was going on during the great depression, which made things even more difficult. -
Social Seurity
Social Security was created by Franklin Roosevelt in the year 1937. It is insurance that is given to older people you have retired and can't work anymore. Also they give it to disabled people in certain situations. -
Rape of Nanjing
It was also known as the Nanking Massacre. This massacre was a argument between the Chinese and Japanese. Also this massacre is going on during World War II. -
The Grapes of Wrath
The Grapes of Wrath was a book that was written by John Steinbeck in 1939. THe book was mainly about how some people's life changed through out the grest depresson.
