Hooker's Telescope
Edwin Hubble spent his time creating a telescope called the Hooker Telescope. It is 100 inches and was known as the worlds biggest telescope. -
What Hubble Did
He spent a long time just gazing at the stars and galaxies. After awhile he spent almost every day trying to figure everything out. He later realized that the galaxies were moving away from us. -
Alexander Friedmann
Alexander friedmann derived the explanding galaxy soltion to general relativiry equations. he also was the first man to apply general relativity without stabilizing cosmological constants. -
From when it all started
There were many different opinions on when the Big Bang really happened. What really happened was that it was spread within many decades. This was all found by a Belgian Priest. -
v = H0D
This would be Hubbles equation to show what he has been talking about. v is the recessional velocity of the galaxy or other distant object, D is the comoving distance to the object, and
H0 is Hubble's constant. -
Hubble' Law
Hubbles Law was that galaxies appear to be moving away from us at speeds proportional to their distance. It explains why he thought that the universe was once compacted. -
Georges Lemaître
Georges Lemaître believed that the universe was created by
a cosmic explosion that threw matter and in all sorts of directions. -
George Gamow
George was aphysicist that believed that the universe was created as a result of a cosmic explosion. -
Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson
They won a nobel price for discovering the radiation of the Big Bang Theory. This explained why distant galaxies end up traveling away from us with a lot of speed. -
Einstein Theory
Papers were published to that included time and space to Einsteins Theory of General Relativity. After calculating what he did they realized that time and space corresponded to the origin of matter and energy. -
Kansas State Board of Education
The Kansas State of board of Education rejected the idea to have their teachers teach the kids about the Big Bang theory. 6 to 4 voted that they were going to take out three topics from the science curriculum.
