Oil-rich public lands were set aside by the government at Teapot Dome, Washington and Elk Hills, California. Private oil companies were set up by Albert B. Fall claiming the were the government's properties. Then he ended up with $400,000 suddenly. -
National Origins Act
This Act reduced the number of immingrants allowed to enter the United States. It limited it to 2% of people from that country already in the U.S. -
Scopes Trial
Scopes was areested for the reading of a biology book that said man had to compete with nature. Scopes was found guilty with the best lawyer during that time. -

He crossed the Atlantic from New York to Paris in a single engine plane. -

Before this movie, movies were soundless. They had music in the background but nevver any talking. -
Herbert Hoover Elected President
He was elected the 31st President of the United States. He was blamed for the Great Depression. -
Stock Market Crash
This marked the beginning of the Great Depression. Stocks decreased quickly resulting in lost jobs.
