Ruby Bridges
At six years old, Ruby Bridges made history by being the first african american child to integrate into a white elementary school. Ruby and her mother were escorted to the school by four federal marshals everyday that year. BArbara Henry was the only teacher that would teach Ruby. She was taught in a classroom of one and had no friends. Ruby graduated from a desegregated high school and later founded he Ruby Bridges Foundation to promote tolerance and create change through education. -

Birmingham Children's Crusade of 1963
Thousands of childdren were trained in using non violent tactics as a way to desegreate Ablabama. On day one of the protest, hundreds of kids were arrested. On the second day, the police were ordered to spray the children with powerful firehoses, threaten attack dogs, and beat them with batons. Many children still volunteered to be apart of these protests. Eventually, ity leaders agreed to desegregate business and to free all who had been jailed during the demonstrations. -

After many years of pushing for same-sex marriage to be legal, Same-sex marraige was finally obtained. There were 13 states in america in which same-sex marriage was still outlawed who were forced to drop the ban and same-sex marraige was legallized all across the America.
