French and Indian War Comes to an end
The French and Indian War ended on February 10, 1763. The war ended through the Treaty of Paris. This left the colonists feeling like they no longer needed protection from the British Government and they were ready to live on their own. -
The Sugar Act
The Sugar act was carried out on April 5,1764. It brought an end to trading sugar and molasses as well as increased the revenue for the British Government. The colonists felt resentful towards the British parliament and felt as if they were being held captive by them. -
The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was in place on March 22, 1765. The Stamp Act was made by the British and this act made colonist to pay taxes for printed materials like stamps. The colonists were extremely frustrated because more rules were being implemented on them. -
The Declaratory Act
The Declaratory Act was established on March 18, 1766. The British Parliament had fnially decided to appeal the Stamp Act due to months of boycotts and protests. This left the colonists relieved but also brought awarness that the British is still in control. -
The Townshend Act
This Act was created on June 15, 1767. The Townshend Act was a series of taxes formed for British colonies and funded by the Americans. The colonists were angry because they had believed that they were gaining more freedom but it was clear that they were being treated differently. -
The Tea Act
The Tea Act was created on May 10, 1773. It was formed in order to help decrease the overpopulation of tea in the British East India Company and to pull them out of their debt. This made the colonists furious becaused they thought their colonial merchants were being cut short of pay since the British who were trading the tea made more money. -
The Revolutionaary War Begins
This war began on April 19, 1775. The Revolutionary War was fought betwen the American colonists and the British. The colonists felt motivated to fight and win the war in order to declare their independence from Britain.
