    The United States of America purchased the territory of Louisiana, that was owned by France, to further expand the nation. Thomas Jefferson made the deal with Napoleon Bonparte. It was about 828,000 square miles and was bought for 15 million dollars

    A duel between Alexander Hamilton versus Aaron Burr in which Burr came out victorious and Hamilton lost his life. The dueling weapons were pistols, it took place in New Jersey. Alexander was later put on the Ten dollar bill.

    The Pony Express was a mail system that was known for its speed of delivery across the country. It used a relay system of messengers on horseback, it could deliver mail from coast to coast in 10 days. It was only around for two years as the telegraph was much faster.
