Cable Regulatios
http://privacy.med.miami.edu/glossary/xd_ccpa.htm This law protects cable user's privacy by putting a limit on how long the cable company may hold onto the information. It also gives the cable user the right to sue the cable company if they violate these laws. This law is a B+, some things could be tweaked such as the user's amount they pay for the cable, it does however protect the user's privacy very well but limiting what the company can give out and letting take legal action. -
internet privacy
https://cdt.org/insight/testimony-of-deirdre-mulligan-before-the-senate-committee-on-commerce-science-and-transportation-subcommittee-on-communications/ The FTC makes it mandatory for companies to tell you when they are taking your information and what they using it for. It also puts a limit on how much information they can obtain. It also makes sure the current information that is held is kept up to date and is deleted when it's no longer needed. For these reasons i give the law an B+. -
children internet laws
https://cdt.org/insight/testimony-of-deirdre-mulligan-before-the-senate-committee-on-commerce-science-and-transportation-subcommittee-on-communications/ I give this law an A+ because it states that children must get parental consent and that the parent has to have access to all the information given on the internent by their child. -
wireless laws
https://cdt.org/insight/testimony-of-deirdre-mulligan-before-the-senate-committee-on-commerce-science-and-transportation-subcommittee-on-communications/ I give this law an A because it helps protect the citizens by allows any wired or wireless telephone dial to 911 whether or not they have service. -
Internet bill of rights
http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/02/23/we-can-t-wait-obama-administration-unveils-blueprint-privacy-bill-rights i give this a B because it does improve the safety of customers. However, there's still that possibility that someone could wreck the security of the customers. Nothing on the internet is safe, They did a good job of trying to help keep the internet safer for consumers. -
Personal Boundaries
http://www.ncsl.org/research/telecommunications-and-information-technology/employer-access-to-social-media-passwords.aspx i give this law an A++++, it's great that the place or school you work for cannot ask you for your personal information to social media sites that belong to YOU for their own benefit. They cannot access your password or account and arent allowed to ask you for this information either. It's none of their business. -
Call backs
http://www.ncsl.org/research/telecommunications-and-information-technology/state-laws-related-to-internet-privacy.aspx this law is C. They allow minors to request a removal of something that involves them, but it's not as great as it sounds. The site can refuse to take it down if they wish, and nothing is ever completely erased from the interenet. Somewhere, some how, what you post is on the interenet, never to be completely erased so this law is pointless but it's a good try.
