Atter Lenin dies his successor Joseph Stalin took over but became the dictator of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) from 1929 to 1953. He started to rule with terror over the people. This historically significant because he caused great terror throughout Russia and had millions of people killed. -
The German chamber of Deputies accepts the Dawes plan
This was a plan to help the war debt that Germany owed. Germany could not pay the debt because the economic depression, so this plan was to help by reducing the amounts of the payments. This is historically significant because the economic problems had led to the hitler dictatorship. -
US issues the Stimson doctrine
Japan seized Manchuria, then blamed China for the explosion in Manchuria railway. The U.S. was called to help after the fear of Japan was gaining too much power and needed to be stopped. The Stimson Doctrine was drafted to isolate the Japanese government from the international community to stop Japanese government from their growing control. This is historically significant because it was attempt to get Japan to make peace with China, but failed to stop the war between China and Japan. -
The final league of nations disarmament conference is held
Nine nations meet for a military conference from february to july to try to prevent another war from happening by negotiating for disarmament. Germany however decided to refuse any proposals and had withdrawal from the conference. This is historically significant because it shows how the countries saw another world war coming and tried to stop it, but a few countries especially Germany refused to give up power and make peace. -

Hitler comes to power in Germany
During Germany’s economic depression Hitler started to rise as a new leader. His powerful speeches promised the people that he could lead them out of the depression. German President Hindenberg appointed Hitler as Chancellor (head of the government). This is historically significant because as soon as Hitler come into power he started to take over the government, country, and mislead his followers. His dictatorship was the major reason for the WWII to begin. -

Warning speech by Britain to fight Germany to fight Germany from making any attempts to dominate the world
Minister Chamberlain of Great Britain had signed an agreement with Italy, Germany, and France that allowed the Nazi takeover part of Czechoslovakia. This agreement turned out to be useless in stopping the war and made the German military to strengthen. Prime minister tried to defend the reason for the agreement in the first place with a speech to explain that agreement was for a peaceful revolution. This is important because the agreement was to avoid disaster and trouble, but do not. -
