The Enlightnment was the time when people started thinking in a more rational way. People started to belive that there is more than what the Church had to say. Effect: Governments were made, progress was made in science and universities were made. Democracy came into play and there was a pull away from the rule of a King or Queen. -

Cause: The cause of the enlightement was when many people started thinking that what the church was saying was not 100% correct and that there is a reason why everything happens in the world and not just God's will.

The First Fleet-Overview
The First Fleet arrived at Botany Bay on 18 January 1788. When Botany Bay proved unsuitable for a settlement the fleet made its way a short distance up the coast and on 25 January 1788 entered what is now known as Sydney Harbour and anchored in Sydney Cove.
Effect: The First fleet had had Australia for life because they were the first white people that had ever came to Australia. It had also chaged the way how the Indiganous people lived because they wer no longer the sole occupants of Australia -

Cause: The cause of the First Fleet was because the gaols over in England were getting overcrowed with people who had commited very minor crimes. After Captain James Cook discovered the east coast of Australia the English decided to transport many convicts over to ease the cngestion in England. The Gender Imbalance-Overview
By 1835 they had a little bit of a problem with a gender imbalance in NSW. It was equivelent of every four men to one woman. To fix this problem the English government made the Bounty scheme. This scheme was to attract more married people and younger women to Australia. By 1838, over 6000 free settlers had come to Australia.
Cause: The cause of the gender imbalence was the fact that not many women came to Australia. -

Effect: The effect of what the scheme is that over 6000 more people came over to Australia. It had also made sure that there would be another generation of familys and this would ensured that Australian culture could continue.

Battle of Pinjarra-Making a Nation
Cause: Because European settlers were new to Australia the Bindjareb people speared cattle, stole flour and sometimes attacked settlers. The soon then started into a few murders, which the settlers meeting violence with violence. The settlers then got the military involved. 25 soldiers went to the camp of about 70 Aboriginal men, women and children. After several hours of fighting, 2 European soldiers had been injured and 14-30 Bindjareb people were killed, including women and children. -
The Battle of Pinjarra-Making a Nation
Effect: The effect was to the Bindjareb people was that if a person died, the rest of the tribe was forbidden from eating that’s person’s totem animal or plant for a year. That had made many Bindjareb people to work for the settlers in order to survive. It had also made that place a memorial to all of the people who had died. Cause: The Indigenous Australians were the first people ever to live on Australia. They have been thought that they have lived here over 40 million years.

Free Settler-MOP
Cause: Many free settlers came to Australia because they wanted to start a new life in another country. Back in England they were poor, homless or had comited a crime. Effect: The effect of the free setters was that Australia then started becoming a known Nation. The free settlers were the ones who were farming and the ones who were quailified for the jobs needed to start a nation.

Convicts-MOP
Cause: The cause of many convicts being sent to Australia is because the goals in England were getting way to over crowed with people.
Effect: The effects of the convicts is that they had to do most of the hard work on farmlands and other jobs that they were given to do, such as buliding roads and buildings.

Melbourne-Making a Nation
By 1888 Melbourne had became the largest city in all of Australia and the econd largest city in the British Empire. Cause: Melbourne became so big because many people went to find jobs and to make a home. Because so many people were there, were that many people living in Melbourne that were jobless and the living conditions were very poor. Effect: the effect of melborune becoming the largest city in Australia the crime rate rose, many people had to go to the bush to find odd job -
Making a nation
On the 1st of January 1901, the six former brittish colonles of NSW, Vic, Tas, Que, SA and WA became the states of new Australia federation. This marked th new beginning of inderpendent nationhood fo the Commonwealth of Australia. -
World War 1 Declaired-WW1
Cause: It was trigged by the assassination of the Austrian archduke, Franz Ferdinand and his wife, on the 28th of Jun by Bosnian revolutionary. Almost imedetly after his death Austria-Hungary delaied war on Serbia. In defence Russia declaired war on Austria-hungary which ment that Germany declaired war on Russia which then Great Britan/ANZAC declaired war on Germany. France was already at war between Germany and Austria-Hungary before WW1 broke out. -

World War 1 Declired- WW1
Effect: the effect of WW1 was really just a huge amount of people losing their lives from both civilan and miliary. Many bulidings and citys were destroyed due to the fighting that was happening. People who were still at back home were effected due to the fact that women had to take on the jobs of the men and had to sarafice many things as well. Over 900 billion dollars was spent on militarys from all countries.

Gallipoli ANZAC-WW1
Gallipoli is the most famous battle out of all wars for the ANZAC's. They started there attack early in the moring to find that they had landed on the wrong beach which had cause 100's of men from australia to lose their lives just in the first few hours.
Cause: The cause of the ANZAC's in Gallipoli was to get turkey out of the world war after the Britsh forces had failed. -

Effect:This campain was a huge dissapointment because both side lost a huge amount of men with no that much ground being gained. The australian forces had lost 8141 lives.

USA Declairs War-WW1
Cause: USA had joined the first world war because the Germans had declared unlimited submarine warfare and the Zimmermann note. Because the Germans were sinking neutral boats, they were disregarding the international laws. USA had warned them many time but they were not taking them seriously. One of the ships the German sunk without warning was the Lusitania which was a British luxury liner. 128 American lives were lost in just that sinking. After that USA joined WW1 -
USA Declairs War-WW1
Effect: Because of USA joining the Allied side changed the war all toghther. The allied forces were getting low and if USA didnt join the war, we would have lost.
