The Enlightenment
The cause of The Enlightenment, is that people always used to follow, believe and do everything that the Church said, but people got board and starting doing other things the Church did not approve, they were starting to have new beliefs.
The effects of The Enlightenment was that the King and Queen always controled people and what they did, but everyone wanted to do different and do other things. The King and Queen, were losing there power. -
Free Settlers
Free settlers, were people voluntered to pack up and go live or work somewhere else. These people got a choice and they choose to go. -
The Second Fleet
Late in the year 1787a second fleet of ships headed to Sydney Cove in Australia. This time there were only 6 ships. There were a mix of convicts and ordinary people volunteering to go. Unlike the first fleet, people on the ships were treated badly, and many were hungry. The plan was for the ships to arrive at the same time in 1788, but due to delays, ships arrieved two months apart. After the arrival in Sydney, many of the people were half naked and covered in lice. Over 100 people died. -
The First Fleet
In 1786 eleven ships departed from Great Britain headed for Australia ( THe new land ). On baord there were over 700 men, 222 women and much smaller amount of childern. There was also a variety of animals. Whe the fleets arrieved at New South Wales ( as named by Captain Cook ) it was in January, 1787. The reason for sending out these people was to create colonisation. -
Convicts
A penal colony was established in Australia when the first fleet arrived in Port Jackson, There was eleven ships were 1332 people and 736 of the people were Convicts, Over the long eight months of being on the ship twenty-three convicts died and over 16% had been sentenced for stealing a small amount of food. -
Indigenous Austrlians
Immediate consquence for British settlement was a series of European diseases such as Smallpox. Smallpox was the principal cause of Aborignial deaths. In 1834 occurred the first recorded use of Aboriginal trackers, who proved very adept at navigating their way through the Australian landscape and finding people. -
Movement of People - Free Settlers
The first free settlers to come to Australia were Bellona ship that arrived in Sydney on the 16th of January 1793. The first singl men and two families were wealthy enough to afford the long voyage from England. The harsh Australian enviroment made life on the land a massive struggle for the early free settlers -

Voluntry Migration
It is eslimated that by 1901, about 15 million people had left England, to search for better a better life for them and there families. Such as this voluntry Migration occurs when people offer and make there own decision that they are going to work, this is called a free settler. -
The Assignation Of Archduke Franz Fierdinana.
On 28 June 1914, Archduke Franz Fierdinand ( heir to the Austo - Hungarian throne) and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, were visiting sarajevo to inspect the manoevres of the army. As the motorcade passed through the streets, Gavrilo Princip, an member of the Serbian groups the Black Hand, shot and killed the duke and his wife. -
Gallipoli campaign
Much as Russell surmised, the course of World War I culminated in loss. A study of the treaties, battles, technology, and ideological grounds shows much about the political, military, and diplomatic conditions that prevailed during World War I. The century following Lincoln’s assassination proved the truth of his words. The effects of World War I were a harsh reality, for all the men during that time. -
American Joining
America had always tried to keep out of WW1 although it then traded with nations involved in war. America ended up joining on the side of the allies and from then, were in the middle of the war. -
The working mens paradise
After the gold rushes of the 1940's and 50's, major Australian cities develped rapidly. By 1888, Melbourne had become the largest city in the whole of Australia. It also became the second largest city in the british Empire after London.
