    The Enlightenment
    The date of the specific date of the enlightenment isn't known but it is believed to be between the 1700s and the 1800s.
    The people that were effected by the enlightenment were the goverment and the royalty because the citezens started thinking for themselves and questioning them.The effects of the enlightenment was that people began to question the religion and thoughts related and scientific thoughts were of more interest, this caused people to overthrow the goverment and had less power.

    The reason Christopher Columbus travelled to Australia was hoping to find a route to China (in order to trade for spices),because people back then thought that the world was flat, Christopher Columbus decided to travel directly into the Atlantic Ocean, finding that the world was round and discovering the New World.

    The effect of Christopher Columbus's first voyage was many people died during the trip, people most indigenous were killed, the people now knew the world wasn’t flat and they also found a new route to China.

    In 1492 Christopher Columbus discovered a new world, the new world was a continent that hadn’t yet been discovered on the map, this continent was North America. In 1770 James cook also discovered some of the "New world”. He discovered Australia and New Zealand.

    The free seyylers moved to Australia between 1788 - 1850/
    The cause of the Free settlers to move to Australia was because it was starting to get over crowded in England or they just wanted a fresh start.
    The effect mainly on the Indigenous people of Australia and it caused them to loose a lot of their land and family. the Free settlers often took the Indigenous as slaves causing the Indigenous to have a hard life.

    The bounty scheme was designed to attract more married couples and young single women to move to Australia. The bounty scheme was established because the government realised that there was 1 women for every 4 men (gender in balance)The scheme let settlers pay 'bounties' to shipping agents to bring healthy young workers over to Australia.

    Australia may never have been discovered. Besides Australia not being discovered, the effect was still pretty good because people got a chance to start a new life and start fresh.

    Apart from the people that were banished to Australia by the British for crimes as small as stealing a loaf of bread to feed their family.
    Convicts where then used as slaves to free settlers and were punished thoroughly.
    The whole reason the convicts cam to Australia was because the jails in England were getting over crowded so they sent them on boats to find new land.
    The effect of the event was good in a way because if they convicts didn’t do bad then they wouldn’t have been sent to Australia

    When the British first settled Captain Phillip gave the aboriginals gifts. He was under strict orders to keep a friendly relationship with the indigenous people. The indigenous people were curious and would accept gifts but when they realised that the newcomers were planning to stay on their land they got angry. Suddenly there was less resources and their land that they relied on, they realised was gone. Indigenous people also started to die from diseases that the British brought over.

    By 1834 the area of South Australia was declared a colony, but one with a difference, it was to be settled by free settlers not by convicts like alot of the other states were. South Australia started off as part of NSW.The following year William Light became survyor-general. It was he who developed the location and design for Adelaide.By 1835, more settlers had arrived, 2 whaling stations had been built and the first grape vines were planted.By 1841 these vines were the base of a wine industry.

    Because European settlers were new to Australia the Bindjareb people speared cattle, stole flour and sometimes attacked settlers. The soon then started into a few murders, which the settlers meeting violence with violence. The settlers then got the military involved. 25 soldiers went to the camp of about 70 Aboriginal men, women and children. After several hours of fighting, 2 European soldiers had been injured and 14-30 Bindjareb people were killed, including women and children.

    The effect was to the Bindjareb people was that if a person died, the rest of the tribe was forbidden from eating that’s person’s totem animal or plant for a year. That had made many Bindjareb people to work for the settlers in order to survive. It had also made that place a memorial to all of the people who had died.

    on the 28th of June 1914, Archducke Franz Ferdinan (heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne) and his wife, sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, were visiting Sarajeva to inspect the manoeuvres of the army. As the motocade passed through the streets, Gavrilo Princip, a member of the serbian group the Back Hand, shot and killed the duke and his wife.

    On the 28th of April the Australian soldiers landed at ANZAC Cove. The cause of the event was the war that was going on in Europe it was appart of the on going war. The effect was massive on the soldiers and there family because of the ammount of people that died and were injured and the land that was destoryed.

    On May 7 1915, the ship Lusitania was sunk by a German submarine during an unrestricted U-boat campaign. Over 1000 people died, 128 citizens of America. America was a neutral country and did not get involved until Germany brought back the unrestricted u-boat campaign (which Germany hoped would end the war)Then after much consideration, America declared war on Germany in April 1917.

    Voluntary migration was when people migrated (moved to another country) on their fee will. This happened a lot in the 1990 where people moved from England to a "New World". The cause of the migration was because it was getting overcrowded in Europe, or just the fact people didn’t want to stay in Europe, when this happened people chose to migrate to the "New World". The effect of this was that many single men moved so there was a gender imbalance and there was 1 woman for every 4 men.
