  • The Enlightenment

    The Enlightenment
    The Enlightenment was a cultrual movement that took place in the 17th and 18th centuries.
    The enlightment was a period of time where people that were disagreeing with church became very indepenant with themselfes by stopping beliefs the church had.
  • First Fleet

    First Fleet
    The First fleet travelled from Great Britian to Australia, the fleet consisted of 11 ships. The 11 ships departured on the 13th of May 1787 and arrived in Australia on the 26th of June 1788. There was many passangers on the ships, each ship included Male convicts, Female convicts, free settlers, officers and the officers families.
  • Indigenous Australians

    Indigenous Australians
    The Indigenous Australians were not transported anywhere by ships, but were kept as slaves by the free settlers.
  • States

    States
    Australia is made up from six states which are Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, Queensland, New South Wales & Victoria, but Australia also contains two territories which are Nothern Territory & ACT.
  • Convicts

    Convicts
    Convicts were people that were force sent to live in Australia because back in England it was crowed or they had done something wrong. The convicts would normally work on farms, by doing everything possibly by hand.
  • Free Settlers

    Free Settlers
    Majoirty of free settlers made the decision to moved from their homes to start a new life in a different country. The cause of them moving was mainly because of the conditions of their homes, having no money or had done something wrong in that country. The free settlers normally got hired to do farming for other people to make money.
  • Involuntary Migrarion

    Involuntary Migration is a procedure where a convict has to be moved to a new state/country against their will.
  • America Joining

    Two days after the U.S declred war on Germany, Amercia formally entered World War 1. When World War I erupted in 1914, President Woodrow Wilson pledged neutrality for the United States, a position that majority of Americans soldiers favored.
  • The assassnation of Franz Ferdinand

    The assassnation of Franz Ferdinand
    On 28th June 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand (heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne) and his wide, Sophie, Duchess of Hohenborg, were visiting Sarajevo to inspect the manoeuvres of the army. As the motorcade passed through the streets, Gavrilo Princip, a member of the Serbian group the Black Hand, shot and killed the duke and his wife.
  • ANZAC cove

    ANZAC cove
    The battle of Gallipoli took place on the Turkish peninsula of Gallipoli. It started on the 19th of febuary, soliders from Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland arrived at the Gallipoli war in war-boats that were being pulled by tug boats and the tug boats were being pulled by battleships. As the soldiers arrived a spark from the tug boat went off alarming the Turkish, they already knew the the Australians were coming because they could see the silhouette of the boats.
  • Working Man

    After the gold rushes in the early 1940's and 50's the Australian cities developed almost immediately.
    living and working conditions in the inner city districts were practically poor, unskilled workers were forcced to live atleast walking distance from the factory they were working at, the money the workers earn't all went to paying rent. Most workers who got paid were earning barely enough to survive off.
