    From the 1400's to the 16th century , woman were more volumptious than any other time in our history. Very full figured, and of course by todays standards they would be considered "fat". "Blondes have more fun" originated in this era, they belived the lighter the hair and skin the better.
  • The Vicyorian Era

    The Vicyorian Era
    From 1837 to the early 1900.s the body image once again took shift. Women of this era were very self concious of thier bodies. Women wore corsets to reach a waistline of a small 12 inches. Many women couldnt breathe, couldnt sit down, and would even break ribs while trying to achieve this goal. Wearing heavy make up and bold colors was reserved for prostitutes.

    Fashion era that introduced CoCo Channel.Women went for more of a boyish figure, usually by hiding there shapes with lose fitting clothing, or using strips of cloth to concel there attributes such as the breast. Short hair bobs, finger waves, and women smoking contributed to the boyish look. Wore very dramatic make-up and powders to look lighter ad pale.

    1930-1940 During this golden age women started to become more concious about the food they were eating. Focus shifted from the waist to the arms and legs. Women started lifting weights to build muscle. Platinum blonde hair was a big trend, make up looked more natural.

    This is around the time were the hour glass figure was a must have, and "all" women wanted were a husband and family. Always prim and proper at all times, catered to the male, and were taught to be flirtatious toattract men.However, still dressed somewhat conservative. Peach complexion and straight hair was undesirable.

    Women became obssesed with being thin and frail. Hippies usually had long, disheveled hair, colorful clothing, bell botoms, platform shoes, and a very care free appearance.     Clothing was sexy and disco-ready, with lots of wrap-style dresses, oversize sunglasses, and high-waist jeans. Taning became a big thing, Women started to go for more of a bronzed beach look. Also, Afros were the new hairstyle.

Well known for spandex, big hair, shoulder pads, and leather jackets, this era also was around the time eating disorders started to became at an all time high. Brighter colors and bushy eyebrows were the new sexy.

    Thiness was still a must, and disheveled sort of look was prevalent among the youth. People went for more of a strung out look.Not much make up like the 80's, and Bangs were a big trend.

But, now more thenever the price of beauty is extremely high. Plastic surgeries are at a peek. And there is no definate fashion trend. Of course we all need our low rise skinny jeans, and juicy coture sweats. Thanks to advancement in technology, most women are striving to meet unrealistic achievements in beauty.
