Hitler breaks agreement and invades Czech then turns sites on Poland. Nonaggression Pact Hitler & Stalin agree to not attack one another and to divide Poland Hitler invades Poland with new military strategy.

Germany invades France
Fall of France Hitler invades thru Belgium in May and by June controls France.France had fallen to Germany & Britain was struggling with constant air strikes.

Germany Bombs London
Germany was trying to destroy factories and shipyards from London, they tried to attack where there was more people. This all started because Germany accidentally attacked them and ended up destroying a lot of home and killing a lot of people in London, So London declared war on Germany.

Lend Lease Act
U.S. would lend arms or other supplies to our allies. Hitler tried to prevent Lend Lease aid by sending German U-boats (submarines) to attack ships. This became known as Wolf Pack attacks when they sunk convoy ships.

Germany Invades Soviet Union
It was called Operation Barbarossa and the reason why Germany invaded the soviet union was because they wanted their living pace, oil, and wheat. Germany had 3 million troops attack along an 1800 mile front and they used a technique called the Blitzkrieg.

Operation Barbarossa
Operation Barbarossa was a code name for the German invasion of the Soviet Union.Hitler ignored The Nazi-Soviet nonaggression pact and invaded the soviet union. Despite dropping temperatures and critical supply shortages the Germans still continued with the attack. The German soldiers suffered terribly because they were still in summer uniforms during winter. This battle was a crucial turning point in the war.

Japan Bombed Pearl Harbor
Japanese expanding over Asia Trying to establish an Asian Empire, only the U.S. stood in its way. FDR froze Japanese financial assets & stopped exporting oil to Japan. Two countries began peace talks but Japan didn't want peace they wanted to create an empire.

United States .vs. Japan
The United States Declared war on Japan because they had bombed pearl harbor. Japan bombed the pearl harbor because they wanted to expand their territory. In 2 hours, 2,403 died and 21 ships were sunk or damaged almost the whole Pacific fleet.

Germany .vs. United States
Germany Thought that the United States was gonna soon declare war on them so he wanted to declare war on The United States first. Japan and the Germans had an agreement that they would join a war against The United States if they needed to. The U.S navy was already attacking the Germany U-Boats.

Bataan Death March
About 75,000 Filipino and American soldiers on Bataan were forced to make a difficult 65-mile march to prison camps. They had to go through so much they were walking while it was super hot and they were treated really badly.

Battle of Midway
This battle was fought mostly with aircraft and The United States destroyed Japan's first line carrier. The allies ended up wining this battle. Japan wanted to capture the Midway island as a base because all the pacific islands were already taken. All of the Japanese carries were destroyed ( they had 4).

Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
The Warsaw ghetto was the largest ghetto with about half a million people held there. Jews were forced to work in a metal shop with terrible conditions. They treated the Jews really bad but the Jews couldn't do anything. This inspired for the Germans to extermination camps for the Jews.

Battle of Normandy
The Americans, British, and Canadians came together to invade France's Normandy region. The soviets became allies of Great Britain and the United States after that. The Western allies decided to open the second front by invading France.

Battle of the Bulge
The Battle of the Bulge was Adolf Hitler's last attempt to win World War ll, he launched a massive Nazi offensive towards the allies. He wanted to destroy their supplies and split the allies in half. The weather definitely affected the battle because the weapons would freeze and the snow caused the trucks had to run every half hour so that the oil wouldn't freeze up.

Iwo Jima Battle
The marines mission was to secure airfield on the island. Iwo Jima was mostly empty land and Japanese hid in tunnels attacking soldiers and then they would retreat.They succeed in getting the island so they could bomb japan's cities but they lost a lot of men.

Liberation of Concentration Camps
As the second World War was coming to an end they were finally getting to the concentration camps. As soon as the allied troops moved across Europe they found prisoners in concentration camps. They found Jews in terrible conditions, they were being starved and there was a lot of sick Jews because it was an unsanitary place to be.

An atomic bomb called little boy, this was the one that got dropped on Hiroshima. More than half of the buildings were destroyed. An atomic bomb called the fat man, this was the one that got dropped in Nagasaki. After Japan was bombed the Japanese emperor surrendered in World War ll.
