German Invasion of Poland Part 1
German refugees sent the German army towards Poland in hopes of the Polish to halt the advancement of the Nazi army in the west. The decision whether to go or not was a "gamble" to Adolf Hitler. This would bring more living space to the German people. About 1 and a half million German troops aligned along the 1,750 mile border and went to invade. Battle of Brittain Part 1
This battle was a battle between Germany and Great Britain's airforces during WWII which was codenamed "Operation Sea Lion" was conducted of thousands of bombing raids from both sides. At the start only military cites were bombed but once Berlin was hit, Germans started to go after civilians. 23,000 British citizens were killed, and by the end of the year around 2,000 aircraft were lost from both Germany and England. -
Battle of Britain Part 2
The objective of this battle was to gain air superiority in the Royal Air Force. The signifigance of the event was all of the innocent civillians who were killed and how it stopped Germany from invading Britain. The outcome was that it transformed the Royal Air Force, and was the first time in history when air force decided the fate of a major battle. -
Operation Barbarossa- Russia Part 1
The German Nazis and their allies launched a massive surprise attack upon the Soveit Union on June 22, 1941. Around four and a half million troops were a part of this massive attack. Hitler yearned for all of the Soviet Union's resources. The forces surrounded their 2,900 km border and came in about 200 miles into Soviet land. Battle of Moscow, Russia Part 1
The Russians were aware that the Germans were going to threaten Moscow and breach their defenses. At first, Russians were acting defensively and then switched to offense once they felt that they could force German armies back. Not to mention, the extreme conditions of cold weather that occurred. The Russians lost between 500,000 and 1 million soldiers, and Germany lost between 300,000 and 500,000 soldiers. Hitler was not able to take over the city and was outrageously furious. -
Battle of Moscow Part 2
The signifigance of this battle was the amounts of deaths being so dramatic and gory. The outcome of the battle was that Germans came very clode to taking over Moscow but failed. -
Battle of Stalingrad, Russia
The Battle of Stalingrad on July 17 of 42 through February 2 of 43 was considered to have been the turning point in WWII. The German army advanced into Stalingrad, Russia. This was a target for Germany because it was Russia's center for communications and manufacturing and also Germany wanted to secure the oil fields of Russia. Battle of Kursk, Russia Part 1
The Battle of Kursk, the largest tank battle of WWII, took place in July, 1943 and was located in Kursk, Russia. To prepare for battle Germany rallied together 900,000 soldiers with thousands of weapons. About a third of the German military were all in one concentrated area. Russia was alert of this attack and were prepared.The Russians placed over a million of their soldiers in Kursk. Germans were captured as prisoners before the war even started Still the Germans attacked and lost 10,000 men. -

On June 6, 1944 (D Day) in Normandy Allied troops ( US, British and Canadian) lined along the Norman coast on the Cotentin Peninsula . The cause of the invasion's location was partially due to the failure of the Canadian raid on Dieppe around '42. 11,500 aircraft were a part of the invasion. By mid August the Allied troops had encircled and destroyed a lot of the Germany army who were in Normandy. The signifigance of D Day is that nobody really knows why it is called D Day and it is kind of a mysterious name which could be interpereted many ways. The outcome of the invasion was that Paris was liberated on August 25 and Germany surrendered. -
