This is the day that Germany invaded the Rhineland and takes their first piece of land. -

This was a combination of three battles fought in the sea and air and the Americans won them all. -

Allies defeat the final German offensive on the Western Front. -

Meeting of FDR, Churchill, and Stalin to plan for post war. -
Iwo Jima
The U.S. fought a 25 day assult and 4,000 Americans died. This is where the U.S. sent off bomb raids from. -
Okinawa
This was a battle that was led by MacArthur and with a huge number of casulties on both sides. -
German Surrender
Germany surrenders unconditionally. -
V-E Day
May 8, 1945 was the day that German troops laid down their arms, named Victory in Europe day. -
Potsdam conference
This was held near Berlin. Stalin, Truman, and Churchill decide to split up Germany, and also tell Japan: surrender or be destroyed. -
Hiroshima and Nagasaki
The U.S. dropped the first atomic bomb on Japanese city Hiroshima. Followed by another on Nagasaki on August 9. Japan surrenders on August 10. -
V-J Day
V-J Day is Victory in Japan Day. This came after the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan.
