    Japan was hit by an economic depression, as well as an overpopulation issue. Japan decided to seize 200,000 square kilometers of Chinese land. The invasion lasted almost half a year, ending on February 27, 1932.

    Agreement between Germany, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom that assured peace. The pact ultimately failed after Adolf Hitler went against the agreement when he claimed ownership of Czechoslovakia.

    WWII began when Adolf Hitler invaded Poland to regain lost land and to rule Poland. He raided both air and land, and caused a three day long devastating attack.

    The Bombing of Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack on the US by the Japanese Navy Air Service. The Japanese wanted to destroy the naval base at Pearl Harbor. This led to the US joining WWII.

    During The Battle of Stalingrad, Germany and its allies fought the Soviet Union in order to gain control of the city of Stalingrad. This resulted in a victory of the Soviet Union and the destruction of the German 6th Army.

    During this event, the Allied Powers launched an invasion of Western Europe, which was occupied by Germans at the time. The result was a victory by the Allied Powers.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Battle of the Bulge
    Adolf Hitler was trying to split the allied armies in northwest Europe by a surprise attack. The Americans were not prepared but tried very hard to fight off the German advance. As the germans kept moving forward the allies formed a bulge to fight them off giving the battle it's name. This ended on Jan 25, 1945.
  • Battle of Okinawa

    Battle of Okinawa
    This battle was one of the last big battles in WWII. U.S army and marine corps advanced onto the island Okinawa to try and finish Japan. This invasion was part of a plan called "Operation Iceberg" which was made to invade and take over the Ryukyu Islands. This ended on Jun 22, 1945.
  • Death of Hitler

    Hitler decided to hide in a bunker the last few months of the war. He gets news that the Russians are a day or two away from invading Germany and taking over so Hitler decides to kill himself. He takes a cyanide pill and then shots himself in the head.

    This is the day the Germany officially surrender to the allies. Many European countries made May 8th Victory in Europe day because of their freedom.

    On this day the US decided to drop two atomic bombs on Japan killing 80,000 people. They figured that if they showed that they had weapons and intentions of major destruction that Japan would surrender and give up.
