Japanese Invade Manchuria
On September 18th, 1931, the Japanese wanted to expand their territory by taking control over Manchuria, they planted bombs all along their railroads which led to the Mukden explosion, an explosion that the Japanese were quick to blame on China in order to go in and invade the cites. The Japanese continue to take over all of Manchuria without the approval of the Japanese government. They made the last opposing Chinese surrender which led them to have all of Manchuria. -
The rape of Nanjing
The Rape of Nanking was a real bloody massacre it was between Japan and China, the Chinese government flees to Hankow as soon as the capital of China falls to the Japanese forces. The Japanese wanted to stop the Chinese from going any further so they sent their army to destroy Nanking which became the Rape of Nanjing where they killed around 150,000 males and raped at least 20,000 women and girls of any age and many of whom were killed in the process. -
Invasion of Ethiopia
The invasion of Ethiopia happened when the Italians wanted to expand the policy of their land and make a new empire by taking over Ethiopia because it was the only territory that was independent in Africa and the Great Depression was happening so they wanted to regain material and land. So on October 3 1935 was when the Italians led 20,000 men to Ethiopia and Ethiopia declared war on them but later on fell into the hands of Italy. -
Battle of Britain
The Battle of Britain was the first battle to be fought solely in the air after Germany and Hitler had already conquered most of Europe and other places they only had one major country that was left to invade and that was Great Britain, they had to bomb Great Britain to try and destroy there Royal Air Force and prepare to invade. -
The Battle of Moscow
During World War II there were many attacks and counter-attacks as the German forces attempted to overrun Moscow Soviet reinforcements and many Russian tried to help prevent Germany's plan by leaving its forces with loss of confidence and exhaustion. -
Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor is a U.S. naval near Honolulu where they received a devastating surprise attack from the Japanese force. The Japanese wanted to stop the United States Pacific fleet from interfering with their military actions in Southern Asia so on December 7, 1941, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes manages to damage around 20 American naval vessels, 8 battleships, and 300 airplanes or more. Thousands of people died or got wounded and days after President Franklin asked to declare war on Japan. -
Women in the War
Around 250,000 Women joined the U.S. Armed Forces in WWII they served from home and abroad. When the First lady Eleanor Roosevelt and the women's group impressed the British, General George Marshall supported their idea and decided to introduce a women's service branch into the army. In May 1942 the congress started the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps which was later upgraded to Women's Army Corps. -
The Battle of El Alamein
In June the Edward Rommel repelled repeating with air and tanks attacks even after the British had succeeded in bringing Rommel into the defensive position they keep delivering heavy losses to the armored strength of the British and they finally made the British retreat by using their panzer division, a retreat so rapid that they left in a hurry leaving many of their supplies behind they manage to push Britain into Egypt mostly with captured vehicles. Battle of Stalingrad
The Battle of Stalingrad was a very brutal military campaign between the Russian force and the Nazi German, where Germany targeted Stalingrad for their industrial capacities. The battle was one of the largest, longest, and the bloodiest engagement nearly two million people were killed or injured while fighting including the thousands of Russian civilians. -
Battle of the Bulge
The Battle of the Bulge was also called "the greater American battle of the war", the Battle of the Bulge was a major battle in Europe it was the final attempt Germany did to try and drive off the Allies off of mainland Europe, Germany used over 200,000 troops and 1,00 tanks but the troops' failed. -
The bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki
On August 6, 1945 cities of Japan, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki were bombed by America. The U.S retaliated by dropping two nuclear bombs on the cities of Japan first in Hiroshima that immediately killed around 80,000 people and thousands of them died from the radiation exposure a few days later another bomb dropped on Nagasaki killing around 40,000 people and this was when the Japan Emperor Hirohito announce that his country's unconditional surrender. -
Genocide
Genocide is a term that is used to describe violence against a member of a nation like an ethnic, racial, or religious group which they intended to destroy entire group, the world was mostly used during WW2 it was the full extent of the atrocities that were committed by the Nazi Regine aginst Europeans jews. In some places like the United Nations declared genocide to be an international crime where the term would be applied as a horrible act of violence. -
D-Day
D-Day was when Hitler wanted to invade one of the largest amphibious military assaults in history that required extensive planning, the Allies conducted a campaign which was led to misleading the Germans about their intended target, and by August 1944 all of northern France was liberated and by spring the Allies had defeated the Germans.
