Nazi Germany leader that was a horrible person in charge of killing over 6 million jews. -
Dwight Eisenhower
He was a general in the US army, and was a big part of D-Day. -
US Neutrality
The US was neutral until Japan bombed them, but they were supplying food and weapons to Britain against Germany. -
Manhattan Project
This was the code name for the project that was developing the atomic bomb. Einstein was a big leader in this. -
Allied/Axis Powers
The allied powers were US, GB, China, and the Soviet Union. Axis powers were Germany, Italy, and Japan. -
African American Discrimination
Randolph was going to riot and protest the discrimination, but FDR passed an order so that we wouldn't look weak to Germany. -
Women in the workplace
Around 350,000 women served in factories taking their husbands job while they were at war. They were nurses, repaired airplanes, and drove trucks. -
Japanese Embargo
The US stopped supplying Japan with parts and fuel in 1941 because of their alliance with Germany. This lead to them bombing us. -
Pearl Harbor
The Japanese bombed the ship port in Hawaii, drawing us out of neutrality and into the war. -

When the US invaded the beaches of Normandy, and took over the Germans there. They were not expected by Eisenhower to win this fight. -
Atomic Bombs/ Hiroshima & Nagasaki
These areas were bombed on August 6th and 9th, 1945. The number of casualties combined was over 90,000. -
Battle of Berlin
3 groups of Soviet soldiers stormed on Berlin and took it over. -
Japanese Surrender
On September 2nd, 1945 Japan surrendered, marking the end of all hostilities in WWII
