Germany Invades Poland
Germany invaded Poland, with Hitler in charge. Using a new tactic called blitzkrieg. This method was a high-speed attack used tanks supported by fighter planes and dive-bombers. Germany had also broken the Treaty of Versailles, making the British empire and France to turn towards Germany and prepare for war. -
War is declared
France, Britain, Australia and New Zealand declare war against Germany after Germany breaks the Treaty of Versallies. This is the start of World War 2. -
France surrenders to Germany(European War)
After 6 months of fighting, France surrenders to Germany. This expandeds Germany's land and army has Hitler has P.O.W, to fight for him. Germany must aslo have felt lots of pride as one of there biggest enemies had surrendered to them, making them feel hubris. -
The Battle of Britain
While Germany had most of France, thr British Empire was the only nation standing against the Germans. Hitler tried to make a peace treaty with Britain but Britain declined. Hitler then planned an attack, "Operation Sea Lion", which was the invasion of Britain. The plan was to send in air raids which were then followed up by German soldiers on land. -
Germany invades Russia
After Germany has conquered most of Europe, they start to get a bit to greedy. So Hitler devised a plan to invade Russia, "Operation Barbarossa". This invasion made Stalin mad and he decided to temperarly join the allies. Britain had gained a powerful ally. -
The Start of the Pacific War
Japanese was a ally of Germany but since over a million of Japan's troops were in China they didn't engage into anything until 1941. With waves of Japanese planes, they had bombed Pearl Harbor, destroying half the U.S fleet. This turned America from a neutrl part of the war to an ally of the British. -
America declares war
After the bombing in Pearl Harbor, Prime Minister Franklin D. Roosevelt wanted to join the war but the public did not want Americas involvement, but after the attack this ensured that the public would support joining the war. -
The Bombing of Darwin
Japan had launched two air raids over Darwin. This attack showed the vurnablitiy of Australia, since mnay of Australia's top Army Division wnet and fought alongside Britian, Australia was quite defenseless. -
The Battlle of the Coral Sea
To stop the Japanese from capturing Port Moresby, American and Australian forces fought the Japanese in a all-out naval battle. This was an important fight to stop the Japanese because if the Japanese were to capture it, it would have provided a great defensive point. -
The Battle of Stalingrad
Germany had invaded Russia and wanted Stalingrad as it was a very good position for attack and defense. This was one of the most bloody and one of the biggest battles. Hitler had captured Stalingrad but because the lack of resources and weather conditions the German army had to surrender. -
D-Day
D-Day was an attack by the allies. This attack constited of more then 100,000 slodiers, it was one of the biggest mitiary assults in history. The point of the assult was to liberate western France and recapture what had been taken. The battle lasted 6 months. -
The end of World War 2
The Allies, invade Germanies terrioty and recapture and liberated all areas. The Allies won World War 2. They find hitler and his wife in Belguim but had comminted suicide. -
Allies try for peace
The Allies try and sign a peace treaty with the Japanese but they reject the offer. So the Japanese and the allies go back to war increasing the amount of injured and dead. -
The End of the Pacific War
The Allies successfully invaded Japan and forced Japan into surrendering, which ends the Pacific War. China, America, Britain and Japan sign a peace treaty with Japan. The Japanese are given many consequences.
